1. The logo I have selected demonstrates many different principles of design. It has three main points which makes it easier for the viewer to understand. At the top it has "bp" as the headline, in the middle it has the altered logo as the artwork, and lastly it has "black pollution"as the body with some information under it.
2. The artist uses the normal logo and adds a gradient effect with black, and lastly adds a small droplet of oil starting to leak from it. The artist used this imagery because for him this is how he sees the oil spill in relation to the BP logo.
3. This logo is saying that on the surface BP is trying to say that nothings really happening, but really they're trying to hide the facts by putting it in the bottom, rather than being open about it.

I think your choice of logo should have been the winning poster for Greenpeace's logo contest! The logo is very well balanced in regards to the colours of the floral-logo, and the background. Furthermore, I agree that the artist used gradient effect of black and a droplet oil spill to depict the oil spillage that occurred last year of April 20, 2010.
